The Student & Parent Guide

Your school set everything up β€” your lessons, your teacher, your plan. Here's where to find it all, how to follow your progress, and how the parent portal works.

1 Β· Logging in

The school gives you a username and password. Sign in at spoteca.com/login. Forgot your password? Use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page β€” or ask the school.

Account Settings holds your own details β€” name, email, phone, address, photo β€” and your password. Changing your email sends a confirmation link to the new address; nothing changes until you click it. The language menu at the top of every page switches between English, FranΓ§ais, Ψ§Ω„ΨΉΨ±Ψ¨ΩŠΨ© and PortuguΓͺs.

πŸ“² Use it like an appNo download needed β€” open your portal on your phone and choose Add to Home Screen. It works just like a native app, with push notifications for reminders and messages.

❓ Questions? The ? button in the corner opens this guide and Ask AI, which answers questions about using Spoteca. For anything about your own lessons or fees, ask your school.

2 Β· Your schedule

My Schedule shows your weekly lesson time β€” it repeats automatically, no rebooking. My Calendar shows real dates, including any one-time changes (reschedules, holidays, recitals, group sessions).

Your weekly schedule.
πŸ“Έ Screenshot pending β€” run capture-screenshots.mjs
Your weekly schedule.
πŸ“¦ Not every lesson is weeklyIf you are on a session pack β€” a set number of lessons on dates the school picks β€” My Schedule lists those dates rather than a weekday, because there is no "every Tuesday" to show. Your week shows what is actually booked in the next seven days, so four lessons on one day appear as four. Each one names its own room: a pack can be in a different room each time, and the room shown is the one for that session.
πŸ•˜ Times are your school's, not your device'sIf your school has set a time zone, every time here is shown in the school's own zone β€” so a lesson at 5pm is 5pm at the school, wherever you happen to be reading this. Days and dates never change.

Moving a lesson

If your school allows it, you can ask to move a lesson yourself:

1

Request Reschedule

On My Schedule, press β†Ί Request Reschedule and choose which lesson date you can't make.

2

Pick a new time

Spoteca offers only times your teacher is free and a room is available. Add a reason if you like.

3

The school confirms

Your school is notified, confirms the new time and assigns the room.

  • Reschedules left β€” your plan includes a number of moves each month, per subject. The card on your dashboard and schedule shows how many you have left this month.
  • A move you ask for uses one. A move the school makes is free.
  • Some plans have a notice window: a lesson that starts sooner than that shows Too late β€” contact the school instead. Cancelling with less notice than the window may count as a used lesson.

You'll get automatic reminders before each lesson.

3 Β· Your Journey πŸ—ΊοΈ

My Journey is your progress map. After lessons, your teacher updates it:

  • Your level β€” where you are on the school's path (e.g. Grade 2) and what's next.
  • Skills β€” every competency you're working on or have mastered, by area (technique, theory, aural…).
  • Pieces β€” your repertoire: what you're learning, polishing, and have performed.
  • Badges β€” milestones you've earned (first recital, practice streaks…).
  • Exams & assessments β€” split in two. Coming up lists exams you have not sat yet, soonest first, with how long you have (“Tomorrow”, “in 9 days”) and where you sit it when that is not at your music school. Below it are the exams you have already taken, with your result and score. Your teacher adds these, so if one is missing or a grade is wrong, tell them.

4 Β· Practice log & badges

Log your practice sessions (minutes + an optional note) from your Journey/overview. Your school may set a weekly practice goal β€” watch your progress ring fill up. Consistent practice earns automatic badges: first practice, 7-day streak, 14-day streak, 30-day streak…

πŸ’‘ Parents can log tooFor younger kids, a parent can log practice from the Guardian portal.

5 Β· Lesson notes from your teacher

Lesson Notes β€” after each lesson your teacher writes what you covered, your homework, a session rating, and sometimes attachments (sheet music, recordings). Check it before you practice. You may also see an Attendance note β€” a short remark about the session itself, such as "arrived 15 minutes late"; the same remark shows beside that lesson on your calendar.

6 Β· Attendance

7 Β· Payments & receipts

Payments β€” every invoice with its status. Overdue items are highlighted, and you can download invoices and receipts as PDFs. Payment is made to the school directly (cash/transfer/however your school collects); the school marks it received.

πŸ•‘ Your HistoryMy History shows everything on your account in order, newest first: each lesson (present, absent, cancelled, moved), each invoice and payment, and when you started or stopped a subject. Filter by subject, kind and dates, or export to CSV. A lesson your teacher has not marked yet shows as Not marked yet.

8 Β· Messages

Messages β€” chat with your teacher or the school admin. Announcements from the school (holidays, recitals) appear in your notifications.

9 Β· For parents β€” the Guardian portal πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§

Parents get their own login, linked to their child (or children). Ask the school to create your guardian account. Your portal shows, per child:

β†Ί Moving your child's lessonParents can request a reschedule for their child from Schedule, exactly as described in Moving a lesson. It uses the same monthly allowance.
ℹ️ One account, several kidsA guardian account can be linked to multiple children β€” switch between them inside the portal. If a parent is also a student at the school, one login can switch between Student and Parent views.
